Background & PlanningDue to work schedules and family commitments in the summer, Bon and I decided (in spite of the contention between France and the US over Iraq policy) to hike in the Cévennes in the late spring. We chose the Cévennes as we thought the climate would be temperate and the trails not yet crowded in the late spring. Bon did extensive research with a general plan for a lower circuit starting in Anduze in the south, with the possibility of an upper circuit to the north. Our dilemma was that it seemed too difficult to do both in two weeks, but that was also the adventure! We knew whatever the plan, it would change once we got on the trail. |
